Translating this to an iOS experience was very challenging. To me it initially felt like designing an Android app for iOS. I was constantly rebuilding components, adapting layouts, and making tough calls about what to keep or drop.

We discovered these insights through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These insights shaped my design priorities: Chat → Notes → Practice became the primary flow.

Leading the Team
As Project Lead, I:
• Led daily syncs and feedback cycles via Slack.
• Used Jira boards to assign and track design progress.
• Created Figma prototypes and annotated style guides for developer handoff.
Although communication was a challenge (especially with a new designer added mid-project without onboarding), I learned to lead through ambiguity and maintain clarity in chaos.
Results
Established an onboarding experience that introduced all of the main features and objectives of the app.

Redesigning meant creating and amplifying their ever-changing business goals. I introduced gradients, colour coding, and illustrations towards their static pages and UI.

Reducing clutter for class notes helps students study faster by using familiar UI layouts and colour schemes.

Key Learnings
It’s important to both prioritize user goals and business goals. There may be times where business goals and user needs do not align, which is why it is important to continuously iterate designs. Don’t be afraid of change.

Design leadership is 50% communication. Managing a new team member with no onboarding taught me that leadership is as much about clarity as creativity.
Accessibility can’t wait. Time constraints meant I prioritized UI polish over deep UX and accessibility — a balance I’d improve next time.
